When the first installment of the Secret Society series dropped at the start of the year, the feedback we received exceeded all our expectations. The project served as quite the showcase for the artists involved, with some headlining their own shows and others being a part of events, such as A3C. With that being said, it was only right that we construct another project, comprising of the best artists the society has to offer. The Real Just x Random Acts of Flyness x Joe Galvan x Crack of Dawn x Give The Drumma Some proudly present the second installment of the Secret Society series. The mixtape features several newcomers to the project such as Green Street, HIL Holla and Mikey Yuxx, as well as mainstays like TIME, Hi-Jynx, Hollywood Floss & Howard Floztello. We're also proud to announce that the society's grind doesn't stop here. A showcase featuring several artists on the tape is all but finalized for SXSW '11 in Austin, Texas so definitely stay tuned...

Secret Society Vol. 2 - Upcoming Dates

The Secret Society Vol. 2 tape is roughly a month away so Amp and I have put together a few dates to remember to keep you dialed in for the tape. I can say we have got a ton of amazing entries and the tape is sounding flawless so far. I think the last tape was ridiculous and I can say with confidence that this tape will be better. All of the dates will be sticking with the NT #MusicMonday theme, so stay tuned at 9pm Eastern and 6pm Pacific.

The homie Louchiano delivered this gem to my e-mail inbox yesterday for the third entry in the "Use Your Imagination" contest. Louchi has been on his grind after his successful mixtape "Loublood" and has a whole lot of other stuff up his sleeve for the future of his brand. I'm telling you Louchiano has a vision for himself, his music, his brand and the people surrounding him and he is just about the most creative person I've ever known (well through the internet...LOL) when thinking outside of the box to deliver that to the masses. The homie A-Live from Green Street jumps on the second entry we have so far for the Secret Society "Use Your Imagination Contest". I was definitely incredibly humbled (and excited!) for my first shout out ever on a song. It's been a long time coming for your boy, but I appreciate the love! If you aren't familiar with A-Live or Green Street get yourself up to speed here or on previous posts on The Real Just.

Also, not sure if you saw the homie Amp's blog, but A-Live got a real dope shout out from Wiz Khalifa for Random Acts of Flyness. Secret Society has been getting some love from the Khalifa man between Half's Interview and this. Always a good look!

The homie got his work ethic on POINT and had his entry over to us within 3 hours of announcing the contest. Russ had to make a few changes with the placement of his verse, so that delayed it a day...but still he beat everyone else out the gate. Well, first and foremost...THANK YOU for checking back to view my 2000th post. If you remember back to my 1000th post, I tried to do something a little out of box and not just the standard post for the big milestones in my blogging career. LOL. Sorry for not delivering through with this announcement yesterday, but we had some technical difficulties and wanted to make sure we had everything dialed in before coming out and announcing this contest.

I'm sure you all remember the epic "Imagination" track off of the first Secret Society tape courtesy of Hi-Jynx, Mr. Jefferson and Keen-¥ . Well, it was pretty obvious that there was an open verse needed at the end of that track. Want to be on the next Secret Society tape? Well, go in on that open spot on the end of the track and send it through to our Secret Society e-mail! I figured I'd up the individual "Imagination" track for download also, but if you don't already have this chilling in your iTunes from downloading the Secret Society tape then OFF yourself.

The rules are spelled out clearly on the artwork, but just wanted to add a few more important things. ALL entries will be posted on all of the Secret Society's blogs (The Real Just, Random Acts of Flyness, Crack of Dawn, Give The Drumma Some and Joe Galvan) so use this as a chance to get your work out to the masses. Also, Joe Galvan will be setting up a site like we did for the Secret Society tape that will allow listeners to stream the entries that have been submitted and vote on their favorite. Voting will start after the June 15th deadline so that everyone has a fair chance of having their entry make the second tape.

This will all be promotion towards the Secret Society : Vol. 2 which we are targeting for Labor Day.

If you don't follow me on Twitter then you probably have no idea about the significance of these pictures. I was out in Kauai for 10 days and have been back for the last two weeks. When I was gone I was thinking I'd almost Tumblr out my blog and just post pictures from the trip, things we were doing, etc. Well, I failed at that. I kept it the same content while I was gone for some reason and didn't get around to going through my photos for a while after the trip. I guess it's the hassle of plugging the camera in every day on vacation and going through the pictures.

These pictures are from me jumping Kipu Falls in Kauai. I'm not sure exactly how tall the falls are and the measurements are all different online depending on what site you look at, but let's just call it somewhere between 20-25 feet. This was BY FAR my biggest highlight from my trip and I feel like I will remember this place FORVER. It was just absolutely unreal scenery and seemed like something you would see in a movie like "The Beach" or something crazy like that.

You have to do a short 5 minute hike to get down to the falls and we brought Brooklyn with us, so in the muddy conditions that was slightly slippery but not a big deal whatsoever and we made it down without anyone falling down the dirt hills or over any rocks. I did the jump off the waterfall 3 times and did the rope swing 1 time. Wifey and I had to take turns with the baby so unfortunately we didn't get to jump together, but we both did are fair share of stunts for the day. We could have EASILY spent the whole day there without a baby, but were there for about an hour or two. SO AWESOME.

3 weeks from today I leave for my Kauai trip...man I hope to hit these beaches up. Good lawd!

The Real Just - Specialized CrossTrail

Your boy Just is the proud new owner of a Specialized CrossTrail bike! I haven't owned any type of bike since the GT Mach One back in the DAYYYY so I am super excited about this new purchase. I really think it's been 15 years since I've had a bike of my own to ride. The wife has been on me heavy about getting new bikes for a while and in the last two or three weeks with the weather changing up we started going to bicycle shops all over the East Bay.

The Specialized CrossTrail is considered a "Hybrid" bike for those not really up on the whole bike game. I thought about getting either a "Road" or "Mountain" bike but this is the best of both worlds for someone who really doesn't need the benefits that a Road or Mountain bike provide. Will I be doing crazy Triathlon type bike rides or need to go that much faster then a hybrid bike? No. Will I be riding in some crazy ass woods type settings going off jumps and riding on ridiculous dirt trails and what not? No. Well, I kinda wish I would be doing the latter half of that, but I see getting this bike as more of a recreational type thing to do with the Wifey for exercise.

I'm souped. The bike was ordered yesterday and should be good to pick up by this upcoming Saturday. I can't wait. Any of my readers ride bikes for recreation? Let me know what you think!

The Real Just - Kauai Vacation

Yeah, you're hating. LOL.

5 weeks from today I leave for a 10 day vacation to Kauai with the fam and 3 other couples/families. I've been to Hawaii more then your average dude, but haven't been to Kauai since I was 5 years old so I am super looking forward to it. Originally we were looking into all sorts of options, most which included trips for us to go to Maui when we first looked at booking our vacation. When my wife's co-worker told her about his clients place in Kauai we decided to take a look at their website and weigh it in as an option. Well after we saw this place, BOOM our decision was instantly made for us. Isn't this place just look ridiculous? 5 minute walk to the beach, on the second hole of a golf course and has a full pool and hot tub on the property.

Wow...If I just said I was excited for this trip that would be the understatement of the year. I CAN'T WAIT! I'm sure I'll post more pictures of Kauai and the activities we will be doing before I leave, but I was just on the website for the place and couldn't help but share...

Wowwww....after all of the blood, sweat and tears (well...not really) the Secret Society tape is finally here. Imagine this....you have 100 + e-mails in your in-box. Some are beats, some are songs....some are AMAZING, some are horrible AND you are trying to collaborate with your homie in Florida and your homie in Illinois (or wherever the fuck Purdue is at...word to Tim) to make sure you pick the best of the best. Three time zones + mad tracks + different opinions = A lot harder job then we originally imagined. We deserve some love so you better show some. (LOL)

Another year of Fantasy Football is almost over and this year I'm in two Fantasy Football Championship games. One championship in my $100 league and the other is my NT/Twitter Fam league. This was an excellent year for me in my big league as you can tell by the top picture. 12-2 and a whole 120 points higher then the next top scorer and 200-300 points on average over everyone else. It was all fun and enjoyable to do so well but none of it means SHIT unless I win this week. Let's go!

I can't believe I'm going snowboarding on Sunday and won't be watching the games and actively stressing out over my team and what numbers my players are putting up after doing that every single week so far this year. #ohwell

I knew last week (Week 12) was going to be tough when I looked at the game line-up for the week. I am happy with 10-6 considering there was some pretty decent upsets last week. This week however, I am looking to rebound and miss at the most 3 games. My big "out on the limb" play was picking Tennessee straight up against Indianapolis. I don't see Indianapolis winning out and who would be better to put an end to their undefeated streak then the Tennessee "We have won 5 in a row" Titans. Best of luck to everyone!
